First limited edition packaged in a regular jewel-case, which housed in an outer gold-foil printed black-box with eleven oversized tarot-cards.

This album was recorded between the autumn of 1993 and the winter of 1996 at Enlightenment House.
"From Sickening Skies" was recorded during the Lunar Eclipse of 27th September 1996.
Vocals for "The Truth Is A Sharp Knife" recorded in Durham Cathedral.
"Hymn To Pan" adapted from a poem by Aleister Crowley.

Most of the tracks here are pretty mediocre, but both _Dark Face Of Eve_ and _Hymn To Pan_ stand out as some of the best pagan dark ambient that I've ever heard. The artists really are using crude equipment; you can tell by the plosive 'pops' on the _Hymn To Pan_ track, yet this fact somehow makes the whole album more alluring in its small protest against the modern world. I don't know if there is a single word that expresses what I want to say (esoteric?), but at its best, this album really gives the sense of pulling you into somebody else's private, mythical vision of the world - the artists suggest the influence of Lovecraft. The songwriting of _Dark Face Of Eve_ is very good; it's a shame that there's not more lyrical tracks on the album like it.
