Future Bound - The Ephemeris download free

Utterly divine music...At the time this was released I was deeply into tech nastiness and clinical minimalism. I'd kinda written the smoother / mellower d&b off for being weak & slightly ineffectual, but this release totally knocked me sideways. It's music that goes deeper than I ever thought possible - Future Bound are legendary to me on the strength of this slab of vinyl alone.The Ephemeris is wonderful, the kind of track that Bukem loved. Simple beat, sweeping strings and a subtle/melodic bassline. For me though, it's Blue Mist that I keep returning to. Once again a smooth straight beat - but the pads and chords are some of the most atmospheric and melodic I've heard in any genre. Woozy, reverb drenched synths and sympathetic strings draw you into a stoned/melancholic soundscape which gives way to a breakdown that (to these ears) is the aural equivalent of coming up on pure MDMA. Washes of orgasmic sound break over the beats - while an anonymous female coos ineffable, wordless lines that only your subconscious can decipher. Free drugs!
